DEVELOPING STORY QUESTION’S COUNTING ABILITY IN MATHEMATIC USING DEMONSTRATION METHOD TOWARD GRADE VI KEJI 2 STATE ELEMENTRAY SCHOOL MUNTILAN MAGELANF REGANCY ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2015/2016

ABSTRACT

            The implementation of Classroom Action Research is aimed to develop student’s ability toward grade VI Keji 2 State Elementary School in finishing story question in Mathematic through demonstration method on semester II academic year of 2015/2016. The background research is the student’s difficulties in solving story question, in the other words, student’s ability in counting story question is low, and the impact is the learning outcomes are unable to reach the expectation.

The research is held on semester II academic year of 2015/2016 in Keji 2 State Elementary School, Muntilan Sub-district, Magelang regency, Central Java. The time research of cycle I is on February 15th 2016, and cycle II on February 17th 2016. The research subjects are grade VI Keji 2 State Elementary School toward 9 male and 17 female of 26 students. The research is implemented in two cycles; planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.

The research outcomes shows that the demonstration method are able to develop student’s abiliy in understanding story question in Mathematic toward grade Vi Keji 2 State Elementary School students. It is proved by the improvement of student’s average score and the completeness of KKM score, that are; in pre-cycle average score is 53 or 23%, in cycle I become 63 with the completeness 65%, and in cycle II become 71 and 100% completeness.
