IMPROVING STUDENT’S LEARNING OUTCOMES ABOUT GOVERENMENTAL SYSTEM IN CENTRAL LEVEL THROUGH CONTEXTUAL APPROACH IN CIVIC EDUCATION TOWARD KALIURANG 2 STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ON SRUMBUNG SUB-DISTRICT

ABSTRACT

            Researcher implements the approach through Classroom Action Research with the purpose to improve student’s mastery in knowing Central Level Governmental System through contextual approach in Civic Education toward grade IV Kaliurang 2 State Elementary School, Srumbung, Magelang regency, Central Java.

The research is implemented in Kaliurang 2 State Elementary School, Srumbung Sub-district, Magelang regency, Central Java. The research is implemented on semester II academic year 2014/2015. The research subjects are grade IV Kaliurang 2 State Elementary School toward 3 male and 10 female of 13 students. This is kind f classroom action research. In which each cycle consist of 4 stages, they are; planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection.

Based on research outcomes and discussion, can be concluded that contextual approach is able to improve student’s ability in knowing Governmental System In Central Level toward grade IV Kaliurang 2 State Elementary School. The improvement is proved by the learning achievement in average score which improve from 60,8 become 70,4 in cycle I, and 83,1 in cycle II. It is also improving student’s activeness which improve from 46,2%, become 69,2%, and 84,6% in cycle II.
